The Plaid Express

Bonsoir from Paris! Sorry for the lack of love Christmas fever has kicked in!

Back in early October, myself and the boyfriend were invited to a lovely event at Isabel Marant. I have been a huge Marant fan for years and this seasons Étoile collection has been incredible. I really treated myself with this collection and walked away with 3 dresses and a leather jacket! This haul has to be my best this year. The pieces I bought are definitely forever pieces.

This plaid dress has completely taken over my life! No I am not being dramatic. It really has. I have worn this so many times I truly am getting my moneys worth. Even better, I went and bought an alternative colour combo as this dress is so light, warm and comfortable that I thought the red and black would be an amazing addition. (Days after I bought the Red and Black version, the oh so cool Anna Dello Russo was seen in Seoul wearing the same dress.) Of course I have to thank the plaid gods for being in fashion this season. I find it really hard to find a lovely and not a part time Plaid dress to add to my wardrobe so thanks Isabel for bringing these into my life. I cannot wait to blog the Red and Black version of this dress for you.

Bonsoir Choupette

Evening everyone!

I am so sorry for being AWOL recently. It is that time of the year where work has consumed me and people congregate around me like I have the holy answer! I wish!

But alas I am in full happy mood that Christmas is around the corner and for once I think November is moving slowly. Why? Well I think it helps when a lot of new Christmas collections and Cruise collection land in stores. It's like a giant playground for us fashionistas right? But it is also the biggest hole one can create in the bank account.

One collection I have been excited about has been the Karl Lagerfeld Choupette collection.

Who doesn't love this man and his love for Choupette, quite possibly the most famous cat in the world. So it's a no brainer that he would make a wonderful collection that focuses on his one love. So here are some of the pieces that have become available in the Karl boutiques around the globe (no online sales as of yet).

How cute right and they did not fail to look as wonderful in real…

I was so pleased with the bits I got from the collection…

What do you guys think of the collection? How sweet is the new Choupette bag charm? I really want the red one too!

Would love to hear your thoughts!

Thanks Uncle Karl for my new gems!

Chanel On The Go.

Denim Shirt- Monki
Joggers- H&M
Leather Jacket- Zara
Sneakers- Chanel
Necklace- Chanel
Bracelet- Balenciaga
Rings- Cartier 'Love'

I cannot believe it has taken me this long to post about my absolute loves…The Chanel sneakers from AW14 collection. So I know i am a lucky pup. My job and hard work always pays off when it comes to getting the pieces I love. I was extra lucky when I was told I could buy as many pairs and I wanted 3 days before the launch of the collection! I of course had the pink on my list since the show and the bright multicolour, but I didn't realise I would fall in love with the grey as much as I did.

But alas I stuck with my original 2 choices and a pair of the classic running sneakers which finally came in a colour combo that suited my style and taste. I instantly had to wear them so I wore my first and favourite out -These to die for Pink Tweed. Now these are the ones almost everyone wanted due to the whole runway look (Oh and Alexa Chung having them) so I was so smug walking around the days before launch but didn't realise walking to my meeting in Selfridges would lead to a woman screaming at me to tell her who sold them to me. Wow!

That aside, this outfit was so planned pre obtaining my dream sneakers. When you ask? Well when I bought these joggers in H&M Paris. If you know me well you will know I am not big on sports luxe, I love sneakers but not the biggest jogger fan. I just immediately fell in love with these and instantly knew what to pair it with, classic denim shirt and leather jacket. I especially love that my favourite Monki denim shirt worked so so well with the outfit. Now it's time to work out what other outfits will go with my pants.

A Fairytale in Montmartre

Dress- Topshop
Denim Shirt- Primark
Bag- Celine Trio
Sandals- Ancient Greek
Sneakers- Saint Laurent
Floral Hairband- Vintage
Sunglasses- Miu Miu
Necklace- Chanel

They definitely kept the best till last at Rock en Seine. Sunday night saw us get absolutely hammered dancing to Brody Dalle, Lana Del Rey, La Roux, Kavinsky and the all mighty Queens of The Stone Age! But before we ventured off to the festival we took in the sights of my local area- Montmartre. God I love the Sacre Coeur. To say I wake up in this area never gets old. I really love walking around here and it was so nice to share it with my brother who always wonders what I am always talking about when I come home and spill the Parisian gossip.

As you know I LOVE this gingham dress from Topshop. I've blogged about it before in a previous post and just could not wear this in Paris. As you can see I did change my shoes. I went from gleefully running around the Sacre Coeur in Ancient Greek Sandals to be truly debaucherous and running from stage to stage in my beloved (and only 2 days old) Saint Laurent Fang sneakers! Plus an add of a floral hairband (vintage) and here I present a 2 ways to wear one outfit in the same day.

As it was the last day at the festival and a Sunday we did take the opportunity to drop all necessary things off to the apartment which meant me and the boyfriend shared a tote bag. I absolutely loved the freedom of running around with no bag (of course he carried it!) it did make me more mischievous and we ended the night singing and skipping home…of course the repercussions of a hangover were not thought about! But hey we enjoyed it and we revelled in having a lovely hangover breakfast at Cafe de Flore (Seriously I recommend the Baileys espresso as a hangover cure!) and a spot of shopping in Saint Germain. Ah Paris I love you.

Jardin Du Luxembourg

This was technically day 1 of Rock En Seine (Friday, headline act Arctic Monkeys). What I love about this festival is the ability to have the morning free in Paris and then jump on a metro 30 minutes out to Parc Saint Cloud to enjoy great surroundings and music. We spent our morning walking to Jardin du Luxembourg, then through the Latin Quarter, to my favourite book shop in the world (Shakespeare and Co), around Notre Dame and across to Hotel de Ville! No wonder my feet were pounding at 2am in the morning! But this is the best thing about Paris, it is so easy to stroll around and find yourself and the cutest rue or by a historical monument you didn't realise you have ever seen.

Shakespeare and Company will always hold a special place in my heart. It is just perfect and laced with so much history, to know you're sitting in a room where all the greats came to read and recite their works is such a huge thrill especially as I am an English literature graduate.

I absolutely love this ASOS dress. Initially I picked this dress for my friend Lucy for our friend Tara's wedding but she ended up going with an equally lovely dress for the day (despite me constantly asking her about this one). So when I saw this on sale in June I knew it was meant to be.

Equally I knew the dress would go perfectly with my Chloe boots! God I cannot believe I have had these for 4 years now! They still look like new! I just love them and obsessed with how comfortable they are. My key advice for a festival is always wear comfortable shoes, don't go with what goes with your outfit, festivals are mucky whether it's muddy or not! Ditch the wedges and open toe sandals!

I also have to say my Vintage Louis Vuitton Noe was an absolute life saver! It's one of the bags you really do not have to baby because it's there to be loved and it grows more prettier with every wear. Not only that it holds so much without it being a heavy bag to carry around all day. I am keen to add a Epi Noe (in a petite) to my bag collection. I love the rebirth of the Noe, did you know the Noe was made with the intentions of holding 5 champagne bottles, 4 upright and 1 upside down in the middle. No wonder me and this bag get a long so well.
