How's everyone doing tonight? I am absolutely freezing surely this weather will go away (delusion is key when it comes to British weather). Let's hope that it doesn't stay too cold especially for all the fashion buddies running around London. Personally i am hoping for a dry Paris fashion week! But who knows!
So day 2 kicked off to an absolutely amazing start with Zoe Jordan and my absolute LFW favourites Sister by Sibling and ended with the clean cut and fashionably forward Richard Nicholl.
So, here are my favourite shows/ round up of Day 2 at LFW:
Zoe Jordan
Graffiti, scarlet hues, metallic, perforated leather, sheer panelling and core colours is what dominated Zoe's collection for SS14. The pastel pink biker jackets, and use of pastels with a touch of boucle mixed up the collection and showed we can real take the pace of fashion to a new direction.
Sister by Sibling
Bold words coming now, but when i die, i wanna be buried in some Sister by Sibling. That's how much i love these guys. This collection really cemented their presence in the London fashion scene. It was a coming of age collection, sister has grown up and taken a sixties house wife look. The collection was heavy with incredibly short shorts, crochet (come on these guys are the kings & queens of knit wear) suits and skirts, gingham knitted sets, incorporating a new twist of using jersey and denim. Look closely at the knit and you'll see Swarovski crystals embedded into the knit. Bravo guys! Can i be lead sister ;)
Antipodium
Described as a "Are you being served" inspired collection, Antipodium deliver a very wearable and witty collection for SS14. The best thing about this collection is Antipodium know that they make a collection for the consumer market, and for the antipodium fans. The collection was heavy in metallic pleats, neon pink shirts, daisy embellishments dotted onto matchy vests and skirts and pink hounds tooth jackets and dress.
Holly Fulton
Another one of those "I would die in this collection" collection. I have to say i think is one of my all time favourite Holly Fulton collections. The focus on this collection is "Art Deco Sensibility"and moved onto the 70's era for inspiration. The silhouettes were billowing with a splash of blues, and tangerine with glittered jewels, fruits and flower embroidery.
Whistles
High street comes to the catwalk. New on the LFW scene, Whistles show their second collection on the catwalk. Lots of khaki tones/ safari chic with dashes of exotic birds and colour. I loved the use of men's sandals. it goes to show it's not always about heels. Absolutely loved the leather pinafore dress, circle skirts, spaghetti camisoles and polo necks.
David Koma
For a man who dresses strong women, Mr Koma had to deliver an equally strong and structured SS14 collection which was inspired by Japanese art of archery. Key to this collection was colour blocking and a asymmetric cut. I especially loved the armour style cut outs.
Markus Lupfer
This was not a catwalk show, this was a beautiful presentation of Lupfer SS14 collection. It was all about the teenage girls bedroom to relive our youth, but still maintain our grown up and fun side! From beautiful lace, Jacquard prints and that floral print, it's so easy to capture your youth through this collection. I know i am definitely excited about the cat print dress and skirt! A wearable and fun collection.
